laialdaSoo, I know I wasn't too keen on my party on Thursday, and even an hour before people were to arrive I wasn't happy because I had so much to do in so little time. But! This all turned around when my very good friends arrived and surprised me with their costume of choice: 9th Doctor and Rose
I was grinning so hard once I saw them that I didn't even notice Nine was holding up his wallet with psychic paper and introducing himself and his plus one. The pair had kept it under wraps from me and I'm so glad they did as it was the turning point of my night from grumpy to excited as I had not just Nine and Rose, but Ten and Eleven show up as well!! \o/ Win!!
Some small preview pictures and then lots more accompanied by a summary of the night under the cut. (Warning, lots of lovely pictures!)
There were a few other people at the party but they didn't dress up (slackers :P) so, no posed pictures for them! Now, since the majority of the guests were Doctor Who themed, I'll start with the three who weren't:
-That's me in my unfinished costume in the first picture. It will be more steampunk looking one day. I promise. Googles and bag are sitting half finished with the rest of my projects; just ran out of time to finished them. My holster/gun do look awesome though. :) I was a bit sad that most everyone else was Who related as I don't think there is any NewWho character I look enough like to cosplay as. *pout* If I wasn't so Italian I could possibly pull off a Donna...
-My friend and her husband are the couple pictured there and they are a two person costume. I won't give away what they are, but your hint is that she is wearing a Ravens jersey. They plan to be Gomez and Morticia next year though, can't wait.
My Doctor's and Rose! Yay! :D Course I needed some shippy ones and told Eleven to go eat for a minute. :P
Rose here is married to NIne btw, so she wasn't as open to lots of shippy pics with Ten. Oh well. Got the boys to do whatever they wanted for their signature shots though.
NEGL, Ten has the best one IMHO. Goodness, could the boy be skinnier?!
Lastly, I pulled out a long forgotten piece of clothing for the Doctors. They all seemed rather amused/confused with it.
Once the photos were over and done with, we all sat down to eat and watch Ghostbusters 2. Lots of issues were pointed out, and Nine tended to harp on Ten a bit but it movie was still as enjoyable as it always is. Sadly I have no pictures of the first drinking game we all played, but Nine kept losing it and got rather smashed near the end. He made up for this by making Ten his drinking buddy while Rose and I picked on Eleven.
Now that everyone was nice and drunk though, we played a game called box where the point is to bend over and pick up a box off the floor without touching the ground with both your knees or any hands. The box also gets progressively smaller as you go. It took me until about half way down the box size to remember to take pictures. So here's a few choice shots:
Ten gave up on standing after he was finally out in the last round (when you had to pick up just the flat bit of cardboard from the bottom of the box) and instead heckled Rose just as she was winning (see last picture) to make her laugh and fail as well.
Rose was not to be deterred however and won in the end. :D
We played a few more games and movies before most of us called it a night but it was honestly one of my favorite parties to date and I'm so glad I had it in the end. ^_^Here's to wishing everyone a fantastic Halloween!
